FAQ
The questions that come up most often. For privacy specifics see the Privacy page.
What do I need to run OverLooker?
Windows and a PC that already runs Overwatch. There's no separate hardware bar — if Overwatch runs for you, OverLooker runs alongside it. On older or low-end machines, the in-match capture work can have a small effect on framerate.
Do I need to install Overwolf separately?
No. OverLooker bundles everything it needs. You don't have to install Overwolf, sign up for an Overwolf account, or run any other launcher.
Is OverLooker safe to use? Could it get me banned?
OverLooker only reads information that the game already shows you on screen, plus public events surfaced by Overwolf — and Overwolf is officially supported by Blizzard. It does not draw overlays, predict enemy ultimates, or give any in-match advantage; it's an archival and tracking tool, not a coaching assistant. The features Blizzard objects to are the predictive ones, and OverLooker doesn't do those.
How does it record so much per-match detail?
Two sources combined. Overwolf surfaces a live event stream from the game (kills, deaths, hero swaps, queue type, lobby roster, and more). Anything the event stream doesn't expose — perks picked, hero bans, SR deltas, weapon accuracy, map score — is captured by computer vision: OverLooker takes targeted screenshots of the relevant UI panels and reads them. The two streams together produce a much richer match record than event data alone.
What data leaves my PC?
Match data is uploaded to the OverLooker backend so you can browse and search it from anywhere — that's the whole point of the tracker. Hypnos chats are the exception: they run locally and never leave your machine. The Privacy page covers exactly what is stored, for how long, and what your rights are.
Does the AI companion (Hypnos) cost extra?
Hypnos is fully optional — every other feature works without it. If you do want to use it, it talks to ChatGPT or any model available on OpenRouter, so you bring your own API access. There is no separate OverLooker subscription.
Is OverLooker open source?
No. The desktop app, the backend, and this website are all closed-source.
How do I uninstall, and how do I delete my stored data?
Uninstall it like any other Windows app — from Settings → Apps, or via the Start menu shortcut. To also delete the match data already stored on the backend, email privacy@overlooker.app from the address tied to your account; deletion completes within 30 days.
